Storage and handling of methanol
With the recent announcement of Maersk (www.maersk.com, August 24th 2021) ordering eight containerships that will be fueled with methanol, the direction for the decarbonization of shipping seems to be set. This will mean that over time the bunkering of fuel oil and gasoil will gradually be replaced by bio-methanol and e-methanol.
