Exciting Unison in the Dutch Maritime Industry!

Shipbrokers, Shipowners, Charterers, Agents, and other Marine Professionals in the Deepsea and Barge sectors came together for a memorable gathering mid October. The driving force behind this remarkable get-together was the second edition of Mercy Ships Cargo Day, and what’s even more impressive is that twice as many participants joined in this time.

Hosted and fully sponsored by the Rotterdam Committee, this event provided a splendid opportunity to connect with both old friends and valued clients, all while championing a noble cause. Within the committee, you’ll find influential figures like Lykke Saulnier Kristiansen – Freight Trader at Braskem Netherlands B.V., Claudia Beumer – Global Account Manager at VT Group and a member of the IBIA Board of Directors, Mitchell van der Hoeven – Senior Shipbroker at Riverlake Rotterdam, and Henk Mooij – Managing Director of Riverlake Rotterdam.

It’s not only strengthening relationships but also simplifying the art of fundraising. Remarkably, in just seven years, Cargo day committees in Geneva, Rotterdam, Houston, Singapore, and Dubai have collectively raised a staggering 7 million USD, with every single cent going to support Mercy Ships. It took dedication, countless hours of explanation, but the results speak for themselves.

The excitement doesn’t stop here. We’re gearing up for our third event, and the intention is to hold it in April, just as before.
